Trisled gave Europeans their first peak of Rotovelo during the renowned Spezi bike show in Germany. The bright green roto-molded velomobile stood out on the stage amongst an impressive line-up of shiny white composite vehicles. Adopting a ‘come and try’ approach, Ben and Yolande and invited hundreds of curious show-goers an opportunity to climb in and out of Rotovelo during the two-day show. In the afternoons, Rotovelo was rolled outside to offer interested folks short test-rides around the show area. For many riders, this was their first opportunity to try a velomobile.

Despite a hectic two days of attention, the life of this Rotovelo is only just beginning. Following Spezi, Ben rode it out to the Velovision bus, bound for England and a review with Velovision’s editor, Peter Eland.

On the other side of the Northern Hemisphere, Bent Rider Online’s (BROL) editor, Bryan Ball, has put another Rotovelo through its paces on American soil. We’re happy to report that Bryan is keeping his branded blue Rotovelo as the “official” BROL vehicle. You can view his extensive review at: http://www.bentrideronline.com/?p=5276

Following the international Spezi bike show, Trisled Director Ben Goodall took advantage of his Northern Hemisphere position by jumping across to Vancouver and San Franscisco for a few international meetings. First up was Nimbus Kayaks in Vancouver, where Ben and Nimbus Director, Steve Schleicher, shared Velomobile ideas and stories. Next stop was to scenic Gabriola Island off the coast of Vancouver, where speed bike guru, Varna’s George Georgiev, generously gave his time and showed his proven innovative designs. Finally, it was off to Petaluma, California, where Trisled’s first Rotovelo dealer, Nanda Holtz of Spincyclz, is busy introducing Trisled’s latest model to the USA. Ben returns to Australia with renewed inspiration and ideas… and a batch of Rotovelos to build.

Rotovelo is branching out to the corners of the globe and making its debut
European appearance at the Spezi show in Germany on 30 April. In fact,
Rotovelo has already arrived in the small town of Germersheim in South
Germany where Spezi is held every year. This will also be Trisled's first
year exhibiting at the European show.

Rotovelo has already sparked much interest amongst the European velomobile
community due to its simplicity, durability, and unique rotomolded fairing.
Ben and Yolande from Trisled will be at the show to talk with interested
dealers, distributors and velomobile enthusiasts about Rotovelo and the
Trisled product range. They'll also have the latest Rotovelo development on
display: a molded head-in hatch with a glass windscreen and
manually-operated wiper. The new hatch uses the same simple method of
elastic straps to attach to the fairing, making both head-in and head-out
hatches easily interchangeable.

Following their time in Germany, Ben and Yolande continue their northern
trip, traveling across to Vancouver and the United States to meet with the
first American dealer of Rotovelo, Spincyclz, and to connect with other
interested dealers. With limited time available they will only be able to
visit the west of the country on this trip. <hide

Trisled's newest racing model, Kestral, was taken through its paces at the Wonthaggi Human Powered Grand Prix on 19-20 March. Trisled Fresh Racing's second team raced the vehicle at the 24-hour event, with a faultless run from start to finish.

Kestral is derived from two proven designs. It combines Trisled's more than a decade-old FastBack racing trike geometry with South Australian racing team BlueShift's previous racing molds. Trisled Director Ben Goodall approached BlueShift in 2010 when he could see how the combination of these two designs would create an easy-to-service, fast racing kit for schools and community racing teams.

Kestral will be released as a complete racing vehicle in the near future and as a racing kit later in the year. We expect Kestral to sit somewhere between our FB10 and Aquila racing models in terms of price and speed potential. Check our website or facebook page for further updates on its upcoming release.
